October 2008 marks the opening of the new Clarian Arnett Hospital in a patient-centered environment. Every room in the hospital is private and has the same layout, so physicians and staff always enter on the patient's right side, which minimizes body-side confusion. A window into each room provides employees to easily monitor patients while respecting their privacy. Patient rooms are also designed so that the bed is the shortest distance from the bathroom with handrails in place to help limit the risk of falls.

Additionally, safety is another element for the hospital design. Each patient room is equipped with a sink where patients will see care providers wash their hands each time they enter the room because hand washing is one of the chief contributors to infection control. An integrated technology system is another safety element of the hospital. Computers are accessible throughout the hospital and electronic medical records are used for increased safety. This allows physicians to quickly have access to medical records and nurses verify that prescriptions are correct before medication is dispensed. Patients and visitors also have access to advanced equipment. Patients have a call signal available in their rooms. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hospital and cell phones are permitted.
